BEWI External insulation
Is supplied in boards sized 1200 x 600 mm in thicknesses from 20mm – 200mm.
The BEWI Basetherm board, a low moisture absorbent insulation board is engineered for use below the damp proof course and as an impact board to finish the external wall installation.
Current Building Regulations
The required ‘U’ value for new insulated buildings or for a refurbishment project is below 0.30 W/m²K.
Typically BEWI External Insulation specified to a thickness 110 mm or 120 mm will achieve the required u-value of 0.30 W/m²K as part of an insulated render system on a solid wall.
You can specify 70 mm or 60 mm for specific areas where 90 mm is not suitable – for example in the alleys of adjoining properties.
BEWI insulation is produced to the requirements of BS EN 13163 ‘Thermal insulation products for buildings – Factory made products of expanded polystyrene (EPS) – specification’.
