Asbestosafe, a company that specialises in asbestos and cement fibre corrugated roof refurbishment, specified BEWI Profiled Roof Insulation to refurbish an old, damaged roof in Barry, South Wales.
The Asbestosafe system incorporates BEWI profiled roof insulation and felt roofing. It not only waterproofs and strengthens the roof, it also insulates the roof, which means it will not expand and shrink when conditions are warm or cold.

TIPP Trailers operates from a large industrial unit in Barry, South Wales and like many industrial units of a certain age was built with an asbestos corrugated roof. Over time the roof had started to fail where the fixings had begun to perish and rust.
The corrugated sheeting had become porous causing water ingress and condensation – common problems for this type of roofing. A quick and cost-efficient fix was needed.
The whole job was completed in 10 days by a team of three. “This is incredibly quick when you consider the alternative of having to remove, safely dispose and replace an asbestos roof which would have taken a minimum of seven weeks and incurred commercial downtime for the business, says Mick Ellis, Asbestosafe.
The refurbishment of an asbestos or cement fibre corrugated roof using BEWI profile roof insulation increases the lifetime of the roof; strengthens the roof and improves the thermal performance of the building. The roof is transformed in appearance and is very low maintenance.
