BEWI expands its offering of raw materials based on recycled feedstock, launching a new product line of grey EPS

The new product line is designed for use in insulation solutions, documented and fully traceable.

BEWI introduces a new product line of recycled grey EPS raw material, designed for use in insulation solutions. Customers can now choose from a selection of grey raw materials ranging from EPS made from virgin material, to EPS with up to 40 per cent recycled feedstock.

Enhancing energy-efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions

Buildings account for around 40 per cent of the energy consumption in Europe. EPS is an excellent material for insulating floors, walls, and roofs, making buildings more energy-efficient and thereby reducing CO2 emissions. Grey EPS includes graphite, providing better insulation values than the more commoditised white EPS. BEWI has been supplying grey EPS for some time, and now it is also available with recycled content.

”Offering our customers innovative and circular solutions has always been a high priority to us. Our products meet the high-quality requirements demanded in Europe, are well documented and fully traceable. We are pleased to now also introduce grey EPS with up to 40 per cent recycled feedstock, enabling further CO2 reductions”, says Nathalie De Ridder, Sales and Marketing Director of BEWI’s RAW segment

Investing in circular capabilities to increase the offering of recycled products

Last year, BEWI collected 27 000 tonnes of used EPS for recycling – more than any other insulation company. The group has a circular and integrated business model, from production of raw materials and end products, to collection and recycling into new solutions. With the opening of a new production line for recycled material in Etten-Leur in the Netherlands last December, and a new production line for recycling in Norrköping in Sweden a few weeks ago, BEWI continues to strengthen its circular capabilities. This enables the company to offer customers a broad selection of materials, including grey and white EPS – based on virgin and recycled feedstock.
