BEWI Launches High-Performance Mineral Wool External Wall Insulation

BEWI enhances its insulation product range with the launch of Mineral Wool External Wall Insulation (EWI) – now offering a non-combustible solution for buildings over 11 meters high, delivering superior safety and performance.

Manufactured from high-density stone wool, this fireproof insulation board delivers superior performance in mechanically fixed external wall systems. Designed for durability throughout the building’s lifespan, this insulation system is easy to install, provides excellent thermal resistance, and works seamlessly with a wide range of finishes, including brick slips, render systems, and timber or plastic weatherboarding.

External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems are a highly effective solution for the retrofit market, providing a significant upgrade to the energy efficiency of existing buildings. EWI is an ideal measure for meeting government energy efficiency targets under schemes such as ECO4 and the forthcoming ECO5. It supports compliance, lowers carbon emissions, and helps combat fuel poverty.

The BEWI Mineral Wool EWI achieves an impressive thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/mK and achieves reaction to fire Class A1 (non-combustible). The boards come in a standard size of 1200mm x 600mm and thicknesses of 60mm to 230mm.

“Our new Mineral Wool EWI perfectly complements our existing external wall insulation systems,” says Louise Finney, Group National Account Manager. “This addition to the range helps position BEWI as a one-stop provider for insulation and construction boards required for all new build and refurbishment projects on both residential and commercial buildings.”
