Jackoboard® comes to market with strengthened team and exciting new product offer
BEWI now has its strongest-ever team dedicated to supporting its customers for the Jackoboard® range of tileable construction boards.
Headed up by Michael Hailwood, Director Construction – UK & Ireland, the Jackoboard® team includes Mike McCann, Business Development Manager & Head of Sales. Reporting to Mike is Scott Hatton, who was promoted to Sales Manager UK – Construction Board earlier this year. Simon Delves and Janine Lynchey are Business Development Managers with specific responsibilities for merchant sales and Ethan Harragan is a Business Development Manager.
Supporting the external sales force there is also an office-based customer support team, comprising Matthew Draycott, Elisha Blakeley and Katy Dootson.
A key focus for the strengthened team is to support the launch of the company’s latest groundbreaking innovation into its market-leading construction board range – Jackoboard® Lignin.
This is a new generation of tileable construction board which contains renewable raw materials and is produced by an environmentally friendly manufacturing process, making Jackoboard® Lignin boards a responsible choice for environmentally conscious construction projects.
The core of the construction board contains the biopolymer lignin, which is a byproduct of the paper industry. In addition to lignin, the construction board core contains only recycled material. The product has a reduced carbon footprint and an impressive 60% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to conventional XPS.
Lignin retains the excellent product properties of the well-known purple construction boards from Jackoboard®. All Jackoboard® construction boards can be used to form an ideal base for tiling. The boards are waterproof, thermally insulating, lightweight and very strong, making them ideal for waterproof bathroom and wetroom projects. They are also recommended for use as tile backerboards in any room of the house, unlike plasterboard and plywood, the use of which as a substrate for tiling is severely restricted or outlawed entirely according to the latest British Standard.
“We have a great team in place and a superb product range, which we are looking forward to taking to market in the coming weeks, especially through events such as the two roadshows with Jewsons, coming up in September,” says Mike McCann.
