Helping customers optimise their production processes

Reducing environmental impact and increasing resource efficiency

Increased demand for recycled products requires rapid adjustments in production set ups

Many EPS converters aim to increase the content of recycled feedstock in their production. The transition can have a significant impact on their business, and requires an extensive knowledge of the production process, as well as the final product. Pim Van den Berg, a Senior Customer Service Engineer in BEWI RAW, is dedicated to helping EPS converters in the transition process – on their home ground.

The approach begins with the end in mind. Pim encourages customers to focus on the mission, criteria, or special requirements of the end product. From there, he assists in finding the ideal bead from BEWI’s extensive raw material range.

“Success is not only about choosing the right raw material, it’s about first understanding the end product and its requirements. Only then we can find the perfect solution and create value for the customer,” says Pim.

BEWI offers a wide range of expanded polystyrene raw materials; white, grey and flame retardant, virgin, based on recycled feedstock – or a combination, designed to meet the diverse needs of customers across various industries. By understanding these needs, Pim can fine-tune densities and cycle times, and ensure that the converting process is as streamlined and efficient as possible, without compromising quality of the end product.

BEWI’s commitment to production and process optimisation also includes resource efficiency. By collecting and recycling used EPS, BEWI reduces the use of virgin materials, saves resources and provides customers with circular, high-quality solutions with lower carbon footprint.

"More use of recycled material is crucial to remain competitive in the industry. We’re helping customers optimise not just their production processes, but also the impact their operations have on the environment”
